접속사 심화
격식 문어체의 양보·조건·이유 표현과 상관접속사의 병렬 구조를 정확히 씁니다.
격식 있는 양보 표현
even though, although는 기본형이고, notwithstanding, albeit, much as는 문어체에서 자주 쓰입니다.

조건의 격식 표현
provided that, on condition that, in the event that, in case는 조건을 나타내는 접속사입니다. 뒤에는 절이 옵니다.
상관접속사와 병렬 구조
both A and B, either A or B, neither A nor B, not only A but also B는 A와 B를 같은 형태로 맞춰야 합니다.

💡 neither A nor B 가 주어이면 동사는 B 에 맞춥니다. Neither the staff nor the manager was informed.
이유와 결과의 격식 표현
owing to, due to, on account of는 이유를 나타내는 전치사구이고, so that, such that은 결과·목적을 나타냅니다.
⚠️ 자주 틀리는 포인트
- not only A but also B 에서 A 와 B 의 형태를 다르게 쓰는 실수 — 같은 품사와 구조로 맞춥니다.
- due to 뒤에 절을 두는 실수 — due to 뒤에는 명사구가 옵니다.
